Marriage License states:

Know all men by these presents, that we William A. Sims and W. C. Woodburn are held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the sum of fifty pounds, current money to be paid to the said Commonwealth, for which payment to be made we bind ourselves our heirs executors and administrators jointly and severally, firmly by these presents -- sealed and dated the 27 day of Dec 1825.

The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas there is a marriage about to be solemnized between William A. Sims and Catherine Woodburn by virtue of a license from the clerk of the Christian County Court -- Now if there is no lawful cause to obstruct the said marriage, then the above obligation to be void otherwise to remain in force.  Signed: William A. Marriage Certificate states:

Christian County sct. this is to certify that the rites of matrimony were solemnized on the 29th day of December 1825 between William Sims and Catherine Woodburn according to law by me a Justice of the Peace duly licensed for the purpose witness my hand this 7th day of January 1826.  Signed: Tho Barnett, Justice of the Peace.

 

Marriage Consent states:

To the Clerk of Christian County Court where as Wm A. Sims has my consent to marry my daughter Catheran.  I do authorize you to grant license as the law directs in that case December 27th 1825.  Signed: James Woodburn.  Also signed J. C. Woodburn and Wm. A. Sims.
