Know all men by these presents that we Matthew Wilson and Samuel Campbell are held and firmly bound unto James Garrard govenor of Kentucky in the ? sum of fifty pounds for the payment of which we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, and administrators jointly, serverally, firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this 27th day of April 1803.
The condition of the above obligation such that whereas there is a marriage intended between Matthew Wilson and Polly Campbell now if there should be no lawful objections to obstruct the said marriage then this obligation to be void else to remain in full force and virtue. Sir, after my complements to you I must inform you there is a marriage to take place between myself and wife Polly Campbell which I did not expect so soon when I saw you last and as it is out of my power to learn that so soon as I expected this shall authorize you to afsign my name to the Marriage License Bond when the licenses are apply for and as there will need security I expect the Bearer Saml Campbell will be my security your compliance will oblidge yours.
